  Great local cafe with plenty of seating and prompt table service.
  
  Old school menu with traditional favourites like steak sandwiches and burgers and the best chips I have had in years.
  
  Great coffee and the owners haven’t priced gouged everyone like other cafes, as they haven’t followed the media’s self fulfilling prophecy of hyperinflation.
  
  Best quality and value cafe in the area. It’s always busy for a reason.

  I ordered the sticky date pudding and bread & butter pudding (2 of his favorite desserts his mum used to make on special occasions) for my husband’s birthday. The restaurant didn’t have the bread and butter available so had their chef make it fresh for him for this special day!

  A long standing staple of St Leonards, I’ve been coming here every now and then for the past 20 years. They are famous for their ricotta hotcakes with passionfruit butter (only other cafe that does this in Sydney is Bills). Their dinner options are even better, think of hearty home cooked meals like lamb shank, roast chicken with sticky date pudding.

  I am a local living in the area. The food and coffee are always great, however the female owner is rude and at times wildly inappropriate. I have continued to return due to the local convenience and the good coffee. However after my last dine in experience where I took relatives visiting for lunch, I won’t be returning. When one of my relatives asked if the bacon and egg roll had onion on it, she replied “read the fine print, is it too much to ask that my customers actually read the menu?”.
  She also mocked our inquiries about whether the heater in the back area was on before we sat down ( the heater wasn’t on, in July, middle of winter).
  It’s a shame Karen’s Diners have just closed down, she really missed her opportunity opening up a place where people pay to be treated like rubbish!

  Food is great and enjoy the warmth atmosphere. Good service and will be back more.
