  This place is absolutely amazing. Rudy is one of a kind and his sense of humour is 2nd to none. Prepare to have your jaw on the floor as some of his jokes are brutal. I highly recommend this place. It's not just a meal. It's an experience. Food is great and the wine is amazing. Wine list must be 100+ pages! We will definitely be back.

  Traditional European foods and run by family. They have been in the market since 1961. Came in a Saturday after pandemic and it is still very busy. Owner really like to engage with customers which is good. However, their staff need to be trained properly. We did could hear the owner shout to their staff. He couldn’t address their staff’s name which is a bit rude. Food is good and general portions.

  Wish I could give it a 4.5 star rating. Like the set up; the art on the wall, the little knick knacks. The tasting platter is a beautiful mix of all things meat; crispy pork belly; just yum, delish schnitzel and sausages and the mustard sauce was mouth watering. The prawns in garlic sauce get better with every bite. Let me warn you though - if you are going there better work up a huge appetite for the food and the beer; so worth it

  Wine unbelievable and very well priced, esp if you are enthusiastic (and you can negotiate on price). Food OK/good if you like heavy German food. Rudy is painful and he hung around our table too much (restaurant was quiet). I wanted to converse with my dining companions, not him.

  I was catching up with a friend who suggested Stuyvesant's House. Never been there before. While waiting outside for my friend to arrive (being a warm day) I was surprised by the owner who came out and gave me a beer to drink, and very casually said " just drink" and he walked away. that's was the start of a very enjoyable lunch. It was pure old fashioned hospitality, that you don't see much anymore. The food was very tasty, and they have a very large and expensive wine range from around the world. Great for groups and business lunches. Highly recommended.

  Outstanding European food difficult to find anywhere else in Sydney that isn't at Grandma's place.
